Shayla Edwards serves in the capacity of residential counselor at our Ascension campus. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, Shayla found recovery on March 16, 2012 and has dedicated herself to helping others find the same. Shayla initially started her career in the recovery field as a Residential Tech and later worked in Utilization Review before becoming a counselor. This experience has given Shayla a well rounded view of the working environment of a treatment center and the ability to find opportunities for her to best utilize her strengths. In her free time, Shayla enjoys reading, DIY projects, photography, painting, and learning to play guitar. She is credentialed as a Certified Addition Counselor (CAC) through the Louisiana Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (LADRA).
